ABOUT – Jon Lavin

Who is Jon Lavin?

Jon Lavin, Founder The People Workshop

My passion is working with people both in and out of the workplace (a list of some of my clients is here.)

Whether this be through customised workshops or ‘one on one’, my work usually has an element of change about it.

Usually an individual or company wants to do something differently or see something in a different way. Frequently, discomfort has been experienced for some time.

By bringing awareness to the situation and the dynamics that are working, it is possible for people to see the situation differently and therefore, have a different relationship with it. This process is based on a simple fact: that by allowing awareness into a situation, a natural movement towards balance and well being is possible.

I have been working with people and businesses for nearly 20 years now and have undergone a great deal of personal development and change myself. My background in engineering, manufacturing and production allows me to work with people in a very down-to-earth and approachable way and so I rarely find people rejecting my interventions because of my approach – on the rare occasions this has happened, it is usually because they don’t want to hear what is being said!

I have been trained in many aspects of people management, team building, Transactional Analysis, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Coaching, Counselling and Core Process Psychotherapy and I use a mixture of these, depending on the situation, interlaced with lots of fun and a sense of humour.

My work is informed by adhering to strict boundaries and limits around client confidentiality and safety, and working with integrity.
